Eugeniu Cotelea is a Moldovan medical doctor specialist in addiction psychiatry. After completing his medical studies and psychiatry residency at the State Medicine and Pharmacy University “Nicolae Testemițanu” in Moldova, he pursued postgraduate training in psychiatry and narcology. His expertise was further enhanced by the Fulbright-Humphrey Program at Virginia Commonwealth University, focusing on substance abuse prevention and treatment. Eugeniu holds the prestigious International Certificate of Addiction Professional (ICAP 1). His career includes extensive work as an addiction psychiatrist at the Republican Narcology Dispensary, Chisinau, treating patients with alcohol and drug dependency. Currently, he serves as a medical doctor in Romania. He also had a contribution as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the University of Catania, managing international tobacco harm reduction projects. Fluent in Romanian, Russian, English, and conversational German. He has publications about intersections of addiction and tuberculosis treatment outcomes, contributing significantly to the field.
